Good-Bye To All That – Pining For The New Year

December 30, 2010

Every year around New Year’s Eve, the streets of New York City are filled with heaping bags of Holiday trash and abandoned Christmas trees.  This time around, it’s all a bit more dismal, mucky and gray thanks to the “blizzard of 2010″ that hit a few days ago.

However, once the mess is all cleared, it’s like a fresh start – a shining new(ish) neighborhood to go along with the new year.

I’ve included a few photos I took today.  If you’re like me, they’ll make you pine for the possibilities that lie ahead – but, until then, watch your step.

And, Happy 2011!

Those poor trees were once sitting in the tree lot shouting “pick me, pick me” and look at them now.

I also particularly enjoy the blasted-out umbrellas that litter the streets and public trash bins after a big rain storm. How about giving us a photo montage of that one for springtime, Markus?
