IN MOTION is a blog on creative direction, entertainment promotion & packaging, video, design and whatever catches my eye or inspires me creatively – as well as a collection of thoughts on small business operations, creative team dynamics and design management.

Markus Horak is a Creative Director/ Producer / Writer / Designer and the owner of promotions, motion design and video production firm 21Boom, a company he founded in 1999.

His career has included senior creative and art direction positions in New York City and Boston, as well as freelance and consulting stints in branding and promotional campaign development, broadcast / entertainment design & production, strategy and business operations.  He has taught graduate media courses at Parsons / The New School University in New York City and lectured, trained and presented his ideas to groups across the United States, Europe and Asia.

He currently collaborates with marketing and design teams, developing broadcast, print and on-line promotions and identities, as well as video content, animations and collateral for cross-platform use.  His dynamic work for corporate, web, cable and network clients has garnered multiple international awards.

IN MOTION originally started as a journal from China where Horak worked with 3Kou Branding, HaHa TV, Channel Young, Enjoy Young Brands, Bang Bang TV, provincial news channels and China Central Television (CCTV).  While there, he led forums on brand platform development, production, creative strategy, promotion and design in Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing.
