PBS KIDS | Creative Direction & Promotion | Pre-School Educational Series
For the launch of "Chuck Vanderchuck's Something Something Explosion!" a new web-only interactive show for pre-schoolers produced in conjunction with Scholastic, I directed, designed and produced a multi-part promotional campaign that included print ads, posters, environmental pieces, social media elements, e-cards and rich-media banners.
Each element of the campaign helped build awareness of the show's main characters, expressed the show's musical and educational value to parents and drove increased traffic to the PBS KIDS GO! website in advance of the first show.
The goal of "Chuck Vanderchuck" is to help kids understand music and composition by learning basic performance skills through the study of popular song styles from around the world.
Chuck, the animated main character is a David-Lee-Roth-type cool dude – his makeshift rehearsal space, homemade signage and imaginative wardrobe were the inspiration for the campaign.
